Mr. Chandrakant Salunkhe founded SME Chamber of India in the year 1993. also, a well know serial entrepreneur. Mr. Salunkhe has founded various organizations to support SMEs, Young Entrepreneurs, and Start-ups for business growth, converting their business ideas into profitable ventures and commercialization of their inventions & innovations, export promotion, imparting knowledge & education for transformation of their business activities, capacity building for global competitiveness, interface with policymakers, channelize finance & investment, joint ventures, technology transfer, setting up industries and expansion and diversification of business activities in India and Overseas.
Mr. Salunkhe has been instrumental for policy change including policy implementation to enhance banking finance to the SME sector, important initiatives are advocacy for setting up the SME Stock Exchange, National Skill Development Corporation, TReDS – Electronic platform for Trade Receivables, the inclusion of SME sector for providing a level playing field for ease of doing business facilities, identification of emerging export markets for SMEs and advance technologies for enhancing productivity and quality, dedicated SME department in Maharashtra State. Mr. Salunkhe as head of SME Chamber of India been a pioneer in focusing on the Technology needs of SME’s in the country. He is leading initiatives for bringing digital and technology adoption among SME’s in the country. Initiatives like the establishment of SME Technology Development Council are a part of his vision. With digital being a theme in the country, focus on Digital Technologies around Cloud, AI, Big Data, Industrial IoT, Robotics, and Blockchain are in focus.
